Tips to Solve Error '0X85010014' with Outlook and ActiveSync 4.x

ActiveSync 4.0 has been released along with recent release of Windows Mobile 5.0 and includes significant changes for these devices. Some of them are Media synchronization, USB device support, and more. The later versions ActiveSync 4.1 and ActiveSync 4.2 include some more improvements that focus on enhancing the overall experience with Outlook. A user might experience several issues when syncing Outlook using ActiveSync, some which can be easily resolved by upgrading to a later version of ActiveSync 4.x. But if the problem still exists, you need some advanced troubleshooting tips, which can also include performing PST Repair.



One of the frequently occurring errors that a user might encounter on a Windows Mobile device is error '0X85010014' when trying to sync it. Simultaneously, the computer system in issue can prompt an error message, similar to below:

6)Try to delete the partnership on your computer and create it again

7)Perform a soft reset of your device

8)Check for sufficient RAM

9)Run Scanpst.exe, your Outlook PST might be corrupted



If PST corruption issue persists even after running the Scanpst tool, try to import its data in a different PST and synchronize. If this doesn't help, delete the original PST provided a valid backup is available. However, it is suggested to use a commercial Outlook PST Repair tool when no suitable backup exists.
